Glen Peister and Sons commissioned me to carve this Golf Caddy for their INNERKIP HIGHLANDS GOLF CLUB in Innerkip, Ontario about midway between London and Kitchener.  http://www.innerkiphighlands.com/Home.htm

Glen said he had an old Maple tree that was dying and they had to take it down. The tree is at least 150 years old and he didn

Exiter Commission- Wolf Man

2006
12.01

The Wilhelms Commisioned me to carve this tree at their home in Exiter, Ontario this summer. Terry wanted a carving of a mountain man with wolf headdress and his wife wanted a carving of ladys face.  This is the first time I have tried to carve a wolfs head. I ended up carving a couple faces on the front of the tree facing the house and putting the ladys face on the other side facing the street. Over all they were very happy with the outcome.

Fear No Fish Camp Chair

2006
12.01

This is a carving I did for a fishing fanatic based on his favorite logo by G. Loomis – Fear No Fish. It was a lot of fun to do. It’s a great Camp / Deck chair as it has two different sitting positions depending on the direction of the back board and it’s great because you can take it apart and store it easy.

Orangeville – The Lady

2006
12.01

This is the second carving that I  was commisioned to do for the city of Orangeville. It was just a fun peice. Originally it was going to be another version of the Happy Guy, but the tree just didn’t want to go that way, and this is where I ended up. Sometimes the wood just wants to do something different. Check out the Brochure for the "Walk of Trees" in the City of Orangeville.

The Chatham, Ontario BIA Contractedto carve for the day at the Fall Festival. It started out rainy and a little windy, but the day ended up not too bad. I carved two pieces for the day and donated them back to the BIA to auction off at one of the fund raisers.

Cartoon Ferret

2006

Here is a little guy I carved in White cedar. This is great stuff  to do some quick carving in . It cuts like butter and is really easy to play arround with. I had a lot of fun doing this carving and as soon as I can get my hands on some more cedar, I am going to try a bunch more ideas.

Spirit face in Walnut

Here is a Beautiful piece of walnut that was dying to be a spirit face. I originally carved this with a chainsaw as a quick carve and made a mold of it. an produce reproductions from the mold. I then decided that the wood was so beautiful that it really needed to be carved in finer detail. So here is

My Dog Wood

2006
12.01

I watched BearClaw Jack from Michigan make one of these this summer. I figured I would have a go at it . I like the simplicity of it, now I just have to figure out the minimum amount of detail/shape and still make it more life like.  With a little refinement, it will make a great door stop or garden piece. I will try making more this winter.
